THE WBC have announced Vasyl Lomachenko will defend his world lightweight titles against Luke Campbell in the UK.
But Hull-born battler Campbell has insisted no contract has yet been signed.
The World Boxing Council tweeted out the news the showdown would be taking place on August 31, with the O2 the likeliest venue for the clash.
However, Lomachenko’s fellow London 2012 Olympic gold medalist Campbell quickly took to social media himself.
He wrote: “Don’t believe everything you read on social media.
“The fight is not confirmed yet. Stay tuned, real fight news coming soon!”
Lomachenko will put his gold straps on the line as well as battle for the vacant WBC lightweight belt after Mikey Garcia vacated it.
Campbell suffered defeat to Jorge Linares back in 2017.
